[REVIEW] Charlotte Gainsbourg – The Snowman
At the end of the movie Rakel (Gainsbourg), who is in a complicated relationship with the lead character gets kidnapped by a serial killer. She is first seen in the back of a station wagon with her wrists bound in front of her with a white ziptie and gagged with duct tape.
In the climax scene we find Rakel, her wrists bound behind her back and ankles tied to a chair were she is seated. She is also tape gagged with duct tape wrapped several times around her head, but is not as tight as it could have been.
In the scene the killer wraps a mechanized cutting tool around her neck which he uses to decapitate people. As he asks questions to Fassbender he makes it tighter and tighter, and we have several good close ups at Gainsbourg’s gagged face.
At the end, she is saved and ends up on the floor where Fassbender removes her gag. There’s male interference as her son is also a captive, but most shots focus on Rakel.
