Elizabeth Mitchum (Jessica Stroup) is dating Shelby’s (Mischa Barton) ex-boyfriend, and it doesn’t sit well with her. They have a get together and on the way back, Elizabeth is walking alone in a dark road. Shelby, ended up hitting Elizabeth with her car. Shocked, she then dragged Elizabeth into her car.

Elizabeth is held prisoner in Shelby’s house. She woke up in a bed in a bedroom upstairs, with a makeshift IV on her hand. She heard that someone is there, and is leaving. She make her way to the window and calls for help. The man, who was a guest at Shelby’s house, heard something and is looking at the windows in which Elizabeth was calling from. However, he only sees Shelby, waving at him. So he just left. Shelby has managed to intercept Elizabeth in calling for help. She has her foot on Elizabeth’s neck, preventing her from screaming for help.
She then dragged Elizabeth into a bathroom and locks it and left. Elizabeth tries to find a way out, and succeeded. She waited for Shelby to come and check on her, she knocks her over and make a run for it. However, her escape attempt is hampered by an injured leg, from the earlier accident. She tries to hide in a garage, only to get caught by Shelby soon enough.

Next, she is tied up in a basement. Her hands are taped behind her back, and her feet taped together. Shelby then cuts off one of Elizabeth tendon on her foot to prevent her from running away again. Very bloody and graphic. She screamed her lungs out. Later she wakes up still tied up in the basement. Now she is gagged with a strip or rag around her mouth. Her mouth is also packed inside with wadding. She hears a conversation going on upstairs between Shelby and a visiting cop, she tries to mmpphh and scream as loud as she can. This achieves nothing, so she then squirms across the floor to a power switch in order to attract the cop’s attention somehow. Upon reaching it, she stands up on her injured feet in agony and lets out a very laboured mmpphh after managing to throw the switch using her upper body.

The cop goes down to the basement to investigate, where he spots Elizabeth in the darkness using his flashlight. Before he can do anything, he is surprised from behind and butchered to death by an axe-wielding Shelby who followed him down there. Elizabeth can only look on helplessly with wide eyes, mmpphhing quietly, amidst many close-ups of her gagged face. Later, still in the basement, she squirms along the floor again to peek out of a crack between the doors. She begins to mmpphh in terror after spotting Shelby outside, burning the cop’s body in an oil drum.

Later, the boyfriend pays a visit to Shelby’s house, whilst Shelby tries her best to distract him. Elizabeth once again mmpphhs very loudly to get his attention, but the gag seems to be very effective at silencing her. Mike hears her muffles cries and rushes down to the basement: when he ungags her onscreen, she spits out a clump of white cloth, the mouth packing. He then untapes her hands, but fails to untape her feet before Shelby arrives and holds them both at gunpoint.
