Loretta McCready (Kaitlyn Dever) is kidnapped by a sex offender who grabs her at her house at gunpoint. She is marched outside with her hands bound behind her back with what appears to be a belt, and gagged with a wide strip of duct tape, then dumped into a car trunk and driven off. The protagonist later catches up to the car at a gas station, and frees her onscreen.

Camerawork is not great, nor is the lighting when she is rescued (daylight at first, then night).
