[REVIEW] Laurien Van den Broeck – Moonlight
Claire (portrayed by Laurien Van den Broeck) finds herself unexpectedly attacked and abducted from the basement where she and her boyfriend had been hiding. Subsequently, she awakens to find herself lying on the floor of a van, her hands tightly bound behind her back with a white ziptie. Her feet are similarly secured, and a wide strip of tan-colored fabric-based tape serves as a gag, muffling her voice.
As the scene unfolds, Claire’s determination leads her to attempt freeing herself. She struggles to rise onto her knees and employs a gritty tactic of scratching the ziptie against the van’s window to get a better view of her surroundings. Her determination intensifies when she spots her assailant digging a hole outside. In this process, the tape gag loosens and clings to her lips. However, her efforts are cut short when the villain returns, lifting her over his shoulder amidst her screams, and carries her out of the van.
Once outside in a wooded area, the antagonist manipulates Claire’s face, stuffing a large blue cloth into her mouth before tightly reapplying the scrunched-up tape strip over it. She is left alone to squirm on the forest floor, while her boyfriend remains confined inside the van. An unfortunate turn of events occurs as Claire’s dog approaches, seeking playfulness, but tragically meets a grim end as the villain beats it with a shovel.
The scene reaches its conclusion as the villain releases Claire from her bonds and ungags her on-screen. As the cloth is pulled from her mouth, she gives him an indignant glare, reflecting her fierce determination in the face of adversity.
