Rebecca (Findlay) is first seen sitting on a bathroom floor, hands duct taped behind her back, ankles taped together and gagged with a strip. Very brief sequence, lasting only a few seconds. Rebecca is then asked by ringleader Annalise (Viola Davis) if she will behave if the tape is removed, to which she nods. The tape is slowly peeled off onscreen, but she soon screams loudly for help. The tape was nicely applied and there are a couple of great close-ups of her gagged face.

Later she is led into a living room and sat down on a couch by all the group members of the house; still gagged, and hands taped. Again Annalise calmly demands that she behave and ungags her onscreen (the tape appearing to be nice and sticky). At the end of the sequence her hands are seen from a distant view being untaped.

Then she attempts to text someone on a cellphone, but is caught in the act. Offscreen she is taken down to the basement by the group, where she is shown being handgagged by her boyfriend, who is part of the group. She is then shown sitting on a chair against a pole, hands being taped to it and behind her back onscreen. No gag from here on. More of her like this later (Annalise / boyfriend have conversation with her).

In the opening seconds of the following episode, an extreme close-up of her face shows her frantically pleading with someone who gags her onscreen with a strip of duct tape. A clear plastic bag is then tied over her head, prompting much mmpphhing as she suffocates. A few minutes later, Annalise (Viola Davis) is giving a university lecture, interspersed with footage of her and a cohort deciding what to do with Rebecca’s dead body (unbound and ungagged). As they try to figure out who killed her, they decide to stuff her into a suitcase. Another quick flashback of Rebecca later, suffocating to death.

Throughout the episode it is implied that Rebecca’s boyfriend did her in, but the killer is later revealed to be Annalise’s vindictive second-in-command, Bonnie (Liza Weil). She pays a visit to the basement, where Rebecca is still tied to the chair but ungagged. Bonnie lets her drink from a glass of water, telling her that Annalise has decided to let her go. However, Bonnie has other plans. The sequence from the start of the episode is now shown in full, with Rebecca being gagged and suffocated.
