Having been ambushed as she walked into her apartment in Detective Benson (Mariska) suffering in a tipped-over chair. Her wrists are handcuffed behind her back, and her ankles are duct taped to the chair legs. She is also gagged with a wide strip of tape (ear to ear and quite well-sealed). Her captor rights the chair, peels off the tape from her mouth and pours some whiskey down her throat. A particularly nasty back-and-forth follows, which culminates in him knocking her out with a pistol whipping.

Next she is shown laying stretched out on the back seat of a car, still tape gagged. She is ungagged long enough for him to pour vodka down her throat, and then re-gagged. He throws a blanket over her as the drive continues. The car is pulled over by a rookie cop, but by the time he spots Benson in the back seat, the killer is ready to kill him with his own gun.

The drive then continues until the captor finds a beach shack, where he stretches her out on the old-fashioned iron bed. Her wrists are still in the handcuffs, and her legs are now duct taped together. Lots of strained, agony-filled mmpphhing. His attempt at raping her is interrupted when a mother and young daughter knock on the door, which gives Benson time to break off one of the iron bars on the bed, allowing her to get up, and providing a weapon for her to use on him. She swings the bar like a baseball bat with her still handcuffed hands, and knocks him out.
