In this thriller, there is an absolutely tremendous scene for Zooey (Glasco), a cute teen with blue eyes, luscious lips, purple highlights in her brown hair, and a penchant for wearing T-shirts of heavy metal bands. She is kidnapped offscreen, upon which she is suddenly shown lying unconscious on the floor of a bathroom.

In a vivid close-up, we first see that she is gagged with two wide strips of duct tape (slightly overlapping in an X-shape). Very slowly she wakes up, revealing a nasty gash on her forehead from presumably when she was knocked out.

Standing over her is the psycho kidnapper of the hour, which immediately prompts her to begin mmpphhing loudly with eyes wide in fear. He calls her the “sweetest candy of them all”, then leaves her alone for a bit after she gag-talks/squeals a muffled “Please!” A full-body view shows Zooey to be extremely securely trussed up with a huge amount of duct tape — twelve separate wraps to be precise — over her chest, waist, thighs, above and below the knees, shins, and ankles. Her arms are also pinned by her sides.

Cue more mmpphhing, heavy breathing, and muffled spluttering as she frantically looks around the room. Not seeing a way out, she resorts to squirming on the floor in an utterly helpless way and squealing non-stop. Top points to Glasco for hamming up the damsel role so well: she really puts up some first-class struggling and mmpphhing. As her writhing continues, she becomes more determined and uses her hands to peel away at the edge of the tape against her thighs, which is just within reach of her fingers.

For such an ominous and moody scene, it must be noted that the lighting is surprisingly good, and features some of the best camerawork we might ever see in a modern DiD scene: constant full-body views and close-ups are shown of Zooey’s face, highlighting her efforts to get free and how realistic it all is. Her expressions behind the tape gag are highly animated by this point, and her mmpphhs have turned into fierce grunts. This girl is giving it her all! However, the more she squirms, the more unravelled from her body the tape becomes she as rolls around.

Quite rightfully she is in a major hurry, since her captor is about to return with a hacksaw in hand. Having managed to get up into a sitting position, she unwraps herself from the rest of the tape (the soundtrack doing its part well to add to the drama), but time is running out. Her last action is to ungag herself before climbing through an open window, only to have the psycho grab her by the feet. His efforts are foiled when her shoe comes loose in his hand, sending him falling backwards in a heap on the floor to finally end the scene at 58mins. In the very next sequence, Zooey is happily reunited with her parents.
