Park Hyo-jeong (Kim Hyo Seo / 김효서) is a dancer and addict who steals heroin from the South Korean mob. When they figure out that she is responsible, a couple of thugs visit her apartment. The scene begins when her daughter So-mi (Sae-ron) turns up and sees Hyo-jeong sitting on the floor, hands bound behind her back with a black ziptie, feet also ziptied, and very tightly gagged with green duct tape wrapped once around her head. So-mi watches in terror as Hyo-jeong’s sadistic captor tortures her by holding a hair dryer against her bare thighs, causing several nasty burns; all the while she mmpphhs, screams and convulses in pain, and her face is also somewhat bloodied up. Another of the thugs stands behind So-mi and covers her eyes. This sequence lasts about a minute.

Next, they’re both in the backseat of a car, Hyo-jeong still gagged and her hands now ziptied in front, as well as So-mi’s. She continues to mmpphh and struggle with So-mi trying to console her. The car then drives off before the hero can reach it, So-mi pounding her ziptied hands on the back window.

Later, So-mi is dumped out of the car onto a sidewalk, at which point she removes a black cloth blindfold from her eyes and is confronted by an old woman who does not look very shocked or pleased to see her for some reason. Later, Hyo-jeong is discovered in the trunk of a car, having met a gruesome end.
